Ischis il didumeo ? Archibio. Childei. Timocrate -
English translation
Translation by: Editors
(i) Ischis (scil. son) of Didum[os]. (ii) Iason. (iii) Archibios. (iv) Chuldaios. (v) Timokrates.
Commentary
i. line 2 - The spacing suggests that this entry should be taken with the preceding name rather than as a separate entry; in any case it is probably from the name Δίδυμος. Applebaum, following Oliverio's reading interpreted as an ethnic derived from Didyma, indicative of an émigré Jew, probably of the time of the Maccabees, see on iv.
iv. This seems to be in a different hand from iii and, if so, Applebaum's suggestion that it is an ethnic derived from Huldah, indicating an émigré Jew, probably of the time of the Maccabees, is unlikely; it is probably a personal name, see Lüderitz, loc.cit.
