Description: Sandstone blocks, too high to measure, in the wall of the North Tower of the West Gate, inscribed, while in their present position, on the West wall, with P.8, P.9P.10, P.11, P.12, P.13, P.14, P.15, P.16.
Text: Graffito on the raised central area of a block in the row below P.13 and P.14.
Letters: Lunate epsilon, lunate sigma, cursive omega, and cross for Χ in i; L for ἔτους. ii in a very imposing hand.

Date: First century BCE to first century CE

Findspot: Ptolemais: West Gate, North tower, west wall.

ii. Clearly the beginning of a quotation, which was not completed. The cutter marked out the letters of μέν with punched holes but did not complete them.
