A.68. Boundary marker

Description: Limestone stele (w: 0.39 x h: 1.89 x d: 0.25)
Text: Inscribed on two faces, b to the left of a; text on side a ends 0.77 from the lower edge; text on side b ends 1.21 from lower edge. There is one large hole in the middle of side a and many other smaller holes, which created several irregularities in the inscription, and in particular the space between lines 22 and 23 of side a.
Letters: 0.04-0.05.

Date: 56 CE

Findspot: Apollonia, to the west; found by Breyek Mufta Kuainin in 1990.
Original location: Unknown
Last recorded location: Apollonia Museum, (1997) near the French dighouse.

(Latin): Nero Claudius son of Claudius, Caesar Augustus Germanicus, grandson of Germanicus Caesar, great grandson of [Tiberius Caesar] Augustus, great-great grandson of deified Augustus, Caesar Augustus Germanicus, accalimed imperator, by (scil. the action of) Lucius Acilius Strabo his personal envoy, restored to the Roman People the boundaries (i.e. of the estates) which had been occupied by private persons.
