The Cyrenaeans (scil. honoured) Julia Augusta

Commentary

Presumably from one of the several extra-mural temples in or on the slopes of the Wadi Bel Ghadir.

This is Livia after Augustus’ death in CE14 when she became Julia, and probably before her own death in 29 CE.

The possibility that it was once erected in the Sanctuary of Demeter and Kore is a little enhanced by the discovery of a dedication for Octavia there, C.453 (although the dates of the two inscriptions may be quite far apart).
