Description: White marble panel from the front of a base or altar (w: 1.33 x h: 0.78 x d: 0.28) standing on a moulded base.
Text: Inscribed on one face which is chipped at both upper corners and down the right side.
Letters: Second century CE; line 1, 0.06; line 2, 0.03; lines 3ff. 0.035; bars above the figures in line 3; stops for abbreviations, and between words in lines 1,3,5,6; ivy leaves in lines 3,4,5.

(Latin): For Emperor Caesar, son of deified Trajan victor in Parthia, grandson of deified Nerva, Trajan Hadrian Augustus, chief priest, holding tribunician power for the second time, consul for the second time, the city of the Cyreneans (scil. dedicated this).

(Greek): For Emperor Caesar, son of deified Trajan victor in Parthia, grandson of deified Nerva, Trajan Hadrian.

Commentary

Line 3: Tribunician power for the second time: 1 January - 30 December 118.

Line 4: It is noteworthy that the city of Cyrene was capable of such activity so soon after the Jewish Revolt.
