P.46. Fragmentary funerary inscription

Description: Lower part of a small limestone stele with simple mouldings on either side (w: 0.33 x h: 0.35 x d: 0.10). A circular hole pierces the base presumably for a bar to hold the stele in an upright position.
Text: Inscribed on one face.
Letters: Perhaps first century CE, 0.04; L for ἐτῶν.

Findspot: Ptolemais: beside the road leading out from the West Gate, approximately opposite the police station, with other debris from tombs; found in 1970
Original location: Unknown
Last recorded location: Tolmeita Museum.
