M.148. Funerary inscription

Description: Brown limestone stele, roughly cut and shapped; tapering to a triangle which concludes in forked finials (w: 90.28 at base x h: 0.495 x d: 0.18).
Text: Inscribed on one face within a sunk panel (w: 0.18 - 0.115 x h: 0.20). whose surface is in poor condition; there is an incised palm-branch in the upper triangle, and two on either side of the panel. An incised circle on the lower rim is probably intended for a wreath.
Letters: First century: 0.02-0.025; lunate sigma, omega not well cut. Roughly cut and poorly aligned.

Findspot: Gebel Akhdar: East of Cyrene: Umm Heneia: found in 1963 on the upper Plateau.
