Commentary

A new Demeter is likely to be a member of the imperial household, presumably being honoured here with a statue. For this title of Livia see IAph 2007, 12.1002, and Lampsacus, IK 6, 11 (available at at PHI 287506) as well as CIG 2815 and ILS 121; for Sabina, see IG VII. 73, 74, (available at PHI 143549, 143550). In view of the letter-forms Livia is to be preferred here.

Line 2: Probably a cult-title of Demeter, e.g. Θεσμόφορος, Καρπόφορος.
