Description: Rock-cut tomb.
Text: Inscribed on the façade above the door within a prepared area (w: 2.21 x h: 0.14). The cutter has had to leave spaces to avoid holes in the stone.
Letters: Second century: 0.06; lunate epsilon and lunate sigma only in the final word, which is in a different hand.

Date: Second century CE

Findspot: Ptolemais: Quarry III, south wall; first recorded in 1825.

Commentary

Line 1: There is room for a praenomen and damage to the stone here which may have destroyed it.

Line 2: The original text ended with 'for their own'; 'children' was then added in a later hand.
