Description: Rock-cut tomb.
Text: Inscribed on the façade which has been dressed to resemble masonry. a: Above the door. b: To the left of the door. c: To the right of the door. d: To the left of the door, below (b).
Letters: Probably first century CE: a: 0.10; lunate sigma, cursive omega, square sigma for digamma; the carefully cut ivy-leaf in line 2 masks a crack in the rock. b: 0.05 - 0.06; round omega; L for ἔτους, ἐτῶν; square sigma for digamma; roughly cut. c: 0.05 - 0.06; lunate epsilon; L for ἔτους, ἐτῶν; roughly cut. d: 0.07; lunate epsilon, lunate sigma, round omega; L for ἔτους; roughly cut.

Date: Probably first century CE

Commentary

The name Sara (d) suggests a Jewish family.
