Description: Sandstone stele, roughly tapered towards the top, probably damaged down the right side (w: 0.28 - 0.155 x h: 0.365 x d: 0.13.)
Text: Inscribed on one face.
Letters: Probably first century CE: 0.018; lunate sigma, cursive omega, L for ἔτους; square sigma for digamma, bars above the figures in line 4.

Date: Probably first century CE

Findspot: Ptolemais: Wadi Khambish necropolis, beside the main road, just east of the bridge; found in 1969.

Commentary

Lines 2-3: The names indicate a Jewish family.

Line 4: Presumably aged 33; the first figure is aligned under Ι of line 3 so that either L = ἐτῶν was cut in the margin or omitted altogether.
