M.99. Funerary inscription

Description: Part of the top of a gable-headed brown limestone stele (w: 0.43 x h: 0.16 x d: 0.08).
Text: Inscribed on one face across the architrave and on the face below which was flanked by pillars in relief.
Letters: Average: 0.025; ε; L for ἐτῶν and probably ἔτους.

Date: First century CE

Findspot: Gebel Akhdar: West of Cyrene: Ghot Jinoubl; found in 1971.

Commentary

Line 1: Probably year 9 (cf. M.100), Mesore 20+.

Presumably kin - a brother? - to the man in M.100, who died in the same year.
