M.248. Funerary inscription

Description: Small triangular-topped stele of white limestone, weathered orange-brown (w: 0.20 x h: 0.425 x d: 0.095).
Text: Inscribed on one face within a sunk panel (w: 0.14 x h: 0.14). Below the panel there are apparently intentional incisions
Letters: Roughly cut; 0.015-0.02; lunate epsilon, lunate sigma.

Date: First - third century CE

Findspot: Gebel Akhdar: East of Cyrene: Minţaqat Shanīsh, south of Faidia; found between 1972 and 1974.
Original location: Unknown
Last recorded location: Cyrene Museum.
