Commentary
Lines 1-3: The titulature suggests the first months of Nero’s reign
Lines 5 (and 13): Pedius Blaesus (PIR2, P 0212, Thomassen, Laterculi 38.023) is on record in Tacitus, Annales 14.18 (available at Perseus) and Hist. 1.77.6 (available at Perseus) as a proconsul prosecuted by Cyrene and condemned for extortion in 59 CE but reinstated by Otho.
Line 16: The mileage figure may have been 7 or 8 in the light of the distance from Cyrene
