Commentary

The reconstructions are largely to illustrate the possibilities; there are further fragments with parts of letters.

a: Ten fragments: it is possible to reconstruct from the text an opening formula, which contains the name of Hadrian: so 117 - 138 CE.

b: Six fragments: parts of a description of the construction activities

b.ii: There was a mosaic floor in the portico.

c: Five fragments: elements of a concluding formula (i) and elements of personal names (ii - iv). ii might be from the name of the proconsul, which was in the genitive case; or all four might be from the name of a donor

c.iii: Since a Cyrenean would probably use a Doric genitive this name is probably in the nominative case and therefore that of a donor, Menandros; the case of a woman's name Ολυμπίας is known - she may have been a fellow donor. The nomen Κλαύδι[ος may refer to either of these or another donor or to the proconsul whose name was the genitive case.
