Description: Marble stele tapering towards the top (w: 0.43-0.38 x h: 1.46 x d: 0.26). In the top there is a rectangular hole for fastening a capital. Inscribed on the front face with IGCyr008200

Findspot: Cyrene: North Necropolis.; first seen in 1825 and recorded again in January 1911.

Year 12, Pachon 5: Rouphos (i.e. Rufus), son of L(oukios) Helbios Rouphos (i.e. L(ucius) Helvius Rufus), Secretary of the city of Cyrene, was buried here, aged 76.

Year 122, Payni 27: K(ointos) Ponpeios Pollion (i.e. Q(uintus) Pompeius Pollio), aged 62.

Year 123, Mecheir 24: Klaudia Rouphilla (i.e. Claudia Rufilla), aged 36.

Year 133, Thoth 27: P(oplios) Maikilios Sekondos (i.e. P(ublius) Maecilius Secundus), aged 14.

Year 130, Phaophi 4: G(aios) Stalakkios Pollion (i.e. G(aius) Stalaccius Pollio), aged 8.

Kl(audia) (i.e. Cl(audia)) Aphrodeisia, aged 16.

Kl(audios) (i.e. Cl(audius)) Demetrios, aged 20.

Commentary

Pacho, plate LXV, reported the hellenistic inscription (whence Franz, CIG 5167), without transcribing the text on the reverse.
