Commentary

When the tomb was excavated by Rowe (see Cyrenaican Expeditions I) it was found to contain material dateable c. 300 BC; and above the right door are inscriptions probably of that date, IGCyr056400. The present text might indicate a re-use in the Roman period or the survival of the family into the Roman period.
