M.73. Funerary inscription

Description: A quarry with three rock-cut tombs cut into a quarry, with M.71 on the east wall, M.72 on the south wall, M.73 on the west wall and M.74 on the north wall.
Text: Inscribed on the façade above the door within a rectangular panel; there has been an attempt to dress the rock-face so as to give the appearance of masonry.
Letters: Second-third centuries CE: 0.10; lunate epsilon and lunate sigma

Date: Second to third centuries CE

Findspot: Sites between Berenike and Taucheira: quarry-necropolis of Hadrianopolis: above the entrance to the southern tomb (III). First recorded before 1935.
