Description: Part of a limestone column (w: 0.38 x h: 1.35), inscribed on both sides with M.160 and M.161
Text: Inscribed on a surface now very worn; there are traces of occasional letters above.
Letters: 0.025, line 4 larger letters.

Date: 247 CE

Findspot: Gebel Akhdar: West of Cyrene: on the south verge of modern road, approx. 1 km. W of Sidi Rafa mosque; found with M.162 and M.163, in 1960.
Original location: Cyrene-Ptolemais road, Mile XI.
Last recorded location: Cyrene Museum

Commentary

Line 2: For the formula compare a milestone of Philip, M.201, lines 11 - 13, which suggests the attribution of this milestone to Philip also; the other milestones of Philip on this road are M.195 and M.197.
