M.117. Funerary inscription

Description: Marble stele, moulded above, (w: 0.24 x h: 0.61 x d: 0.16); the lower left quarter of the stone has been cut away.
Text: Inscribed on one face.
Letters: Average 0.02; probably L for ἔτους, ἐτῶν very rough and cut between deeply incised guide-lines; lunate epsilon, lunate sigma, cursive omega.

Date: 182/3 CE

Findspot: Gebel Akhdar: West of Cyrene: Barke; found before 1941, findspot as recorded by Ward-Perkins (1949).
Original location: Unknown.
Last recorded location: Cyrene Museum.
