C.649. Funerary inscription

Description: Triangular-topped stele, almost square in section, of limestone weathered orange-brown (w: 0.305 x h: 0.96 x d: 0.26); at the front the triangle is moulded to form a gable flanked by acroteria, with a rosette in relief in the centre.
Text: Inscribed on the face, which carries a relief of a wreath below the text.
Letters: Probably first century CE; L for ἔτους, ἐτῶν.

Date: 52/53 CE

Findspot: Cyrene: At Zway. Found between 1972 and 1974.
Original location: Unknown
Last recorded location: Cyrene Museum.
