Description: Bottom left-hand corner of base of large-grained white marble (w: 0.105 x h: 0.05 x d: 0.05); stained brown, damaged along all edges.
Text: Ιnscribed on the face, which is chipped.
Letters: Perhaps first century BCE - first century CE: 0.016 (omicron a little smaller than the rest); rho with a square bowl; poor alignment.

Commentary

Kore figures here in the koine form of the dative case, so Demeter, if named, should do so too; ταῖ (line 1) would give the Doric form of the dative feminine article, so is unlikely to have referred to Demeter.

The poor quality of the lettering suggests a donor of modest status.
