Description: Upper right corner of a marble stele with moulded gable above (w: 0.13 x h: 0.225 x d: 0.065).
Text: Inscribed on one face. There is a relief of an ivy leaf curling back on its stalk in what survives of a gable.
Letters: First century CE; 0.05.

Findspot: Cyrene: Sanctuary of Apollo; photographed in 1935 as from the Sanctuary.
Original location: Unknown.
Last recorded location: Subsequently damaged. The surviving pieces in Cyrene Museum.

Commentary

A reference to a Jewish Synagogue is inconceivable in the Sanctuary unless on a re-used stone brought from a distance; a meeting or meeting-place of some other group may be intended.
