English translation

Translation by: Charlotte Roueché

To Demeter and Kore, the Cyrenaeans (scil. dedicated the statue of) the Heroine, Kudimacha (scil. daughter) of Klearchos, because of her virtue.

Commentary

A homonym, perhaps identical, is listed as priestess of Hera in C.103, line 13. The use of ἡρώις in line 1 indicates that she was dead when the statue was erected, as the dedication to Chthonic goddesses confirms (see Dobias-Lalou, art.cit.).
