Commentary
These may be the inscription from the Amphitheatre referred to by Applebaum, JJS II (1950) 178f αs of third century style. On the risers of many seats there are crudely cut letters, which should perhaps be regarded as quarry or mason's marks, and probably belong to the construction of the Greek Theatre which preceded the Amphitheatre on this site.
