Description: Fragment of a limestone column drum; w: 0.90 x h: 0.232 x d: 0.57.
Text: Inscribed on the shaft.
Letters: Second-third century ; 0.08; lunate sigma, roughly cut.

Date: Second to third centuries CE

Findspot: Cyrene: Found in 1925 to the west of the Temple of Apollo.
Original location: Temple of Apollo, peristasis.
Last recorded location: Temple of Apollo: lying in the passage immediately to the west.

?] Philippos son of Philippos (scil. gave) [the column to] Apollo [?from his own resources].

Commentary

Pernier refers to . . . ]Φιλίππου υἱός, presumably referring to line 1; the photograph, although not absolutely clear, suggests that Philippos was in the nominative case, followed by his father's name, with υἱός at the beginning of line 2.
